Dudhia to Bunkulung.
The Riverside Walk.
Beginner-friendly. The Balason river leads. Meadows close out the trail.
- 8 km
- +250m
- ~3 hours
- Riverside start. Gentle climb. Storybook village finish.
- October to March.
Route
How the trail goes.
Dudhia sits on the Balason river. The trail begins on the bank, follows the water through sandy stretches and greenery, then opens onto meadows and gentle hills before reaching Bunkulung. The relatively easy terrain makes this the best first trail for a cohort with mixed fitness. Bird life is strong, especially early. Bunkulung sits between two crisscrossing rivers, the Balason and the smaller Murmah Khola.

What stays with you.
- The Balason river. Sandy banks, flowing water, low ambient noise.
