Dudhia to Tingling Viewpoint.
The 360° Climb.
Tingling Viewpoint. 360 degrees. Two river valleys at once.
- 15 km
- +900m
- 5 to 6 hours one way
- West-facing climb. Balason valley right, Mechi valley (Nepal) left at the top.
- October to April. Oranges ripen November to December.
Route
How the trail goes.
The trail climbs along the Siliguri to Mirik road. Traffic is sparse compared to the Darjeeling route. The Balason valley sits to the east, the Mechi valley on the Nepal side to the west, and on a clear day Kurseong appears across the Balason at four thousand feet. Tingling Viewpoint, also known as Kawlay Dara, sits on top of a hill with a full 360 degree view of tea estates, both valleys, Mirik Lake and the snow peaks to the north in winter. This is not a pre-breakfast trail. Plan it as a half-day or full-day option.
